About Café Luciano

Welcome to Café Luciano, where the timeless essence of Italy comes to life in the heart of Óbidos. Rooted in authenticity, our café is a celebration of traditional Italian cuisine, lovingly prepared using carefully sourced ingredients straight from Italy. From rich tomato sauces to creamy cheeses, from hand-rolled pastas to freshly baked breads, every bite at Café Luciano speaks of quality, heritage, and heart.

At the helm of our kitchen is Chef Raffaello Cavazzuti, a Tuscan-born culinary master with over 35 years of experience in Italy and around the world. His passion, skill, and deep respect for regional Italian cuisine ensure that every dish offers a genuine and elevated Italian dining experience.

We’re proud to bring this vision to the picturesque village of Óbidos—where locals and visitors alike can savor an unforgettable culinary journey. Whether you’re enjoying a leisurely espresso and pastries on the cobblestone streets or indulging in a plate of rustic pasta while chatting, Café Luciano offers a slice of Italy in every moment.

Café Luciano is also a heartfelt tribute to Mr. Luciano, a former sailor whose life was shaped by his travels across the Mediterranean. It was through his travels—docking in ports from Genoa to Palermo—that he discovered a deep love for Italian cuisine. Each coastal city presented him with simple yet deeply moving dishes: the perfect pizza in Naples, the silky gelato in Florence, and the unforgettable cannoli of Palermo. Over time, the aromas of garlic and basil, the textures of fresh pasta, and the warmth of family-run trattorias became his personal symbols of comfort and joy.

Café Luciano stands as an ode to his journey—a place where each dish tells a story of tradition, passion, and the enduring magic of Italian food.
